Very interesting art style on my #1 favorite Pokemon, and I like it! I don't know what those cyan-to magenta flame symbols in a few places are supposed to represent but nonetheless adds a nice tap of the cool-color spectrum, blending in with Ninetales' fur nicely. Well done!

Flame that floating is front is based on "Onibi" Ninetales' signature move. (Will-o-wisp?) ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E9%AC%B… since fox associated with spirit and supernatural in legend. also about those spectrum color they're based on ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E7%8B%9… , yokai.com/kitsunebi/"Kobi" these colorful fires are actually the rainbow.....the fact is people in past time believe a rainbow is a fire from foxes as mentioned on some legend said that after Inari god (God of Wealth that has fox as a messenger) give the rain for agriculture and people can see the "Foxes' fire" (Rainbow) after the rain because foxes gathering the farmer's will to Inari god to create rain.
