Description Replica of Mina's Red Gown from Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula movie. This gown is made of red silk dupioni with a full bustle cage underneath. The underskirt is hand-pleated and the trim is all hand-ruched. This dress took me about three weeks of steady work to make.

Looks great and fun to wear. How does the fabric feel- the weight of it? And did you do the creases/pleating yourself?

The weight of the fabric itself is very light, because it's silk dupioni. But I used a little over thirteen yards of it, and with all of the stitch-work, that makes it a little on the heavy side. But it's really not that bad. I did all the pleating myself; it took quite a long time to get them all into place.

It is pretty fun to wear, it's just easy to get the train stepped on. X) That has happened a lot with this dress. I wore it as a vampire mistress when working at Spooky World here in Boston and got stepped on quite a bit. But it was worth it because it's one of those eye-catching gowns.
