Not particularly happy with the background on this; the border could have been stronger.Ink and watercolour.

Love the bordering, that's some impressive detail, and as Sam has said, brilliant colour use.
Personally I wouldn't want any of the colours to be 'stronger' for fear of overpowering the rest of the piece... as it is now, though - wow. Excellent work

I wouldn't worry about the background stuff, I think the purple-pink background melds well with the blue in my opinion. The mirror is awesome as is the artwork of the frame. Very very pretty!

I'm actually warming to the background. I think at the time of posting (right after I finished painting) I'd just been looking at it way to long and I was focusing on individual aspects rather than the whole.
Sometimes one just needs time away from a piece to appreciate it's merit.
