M92 Artemis is a Third Generation Main Battle Tank developed by the Democratic Republic during the Artorian Civil War.

Development began in the late 1980s after rumors of a new generation of MBT is being developed by the Federal Republic reached the Democratic Republic's higher ups, the original proposal was to simply upgrade existing Halberd II MBTs to match against the Federal Republic's mysterious new MBT but this was rejected because the Halberd II is pretty much obsolete compared to latest western MBTs that are equipped with composite armor and computerized fire control system.

The requirement for the new MBT is that it must be equipped with a new stabilized 125mm smoothbore gun capable of firing APFSDS rounds, equipped with a modern Computerized Fire Control System, and equipped with composite armor.

A working prototype was produced in 1990, this prototype was armed with a Ljunghaus 125mm smoothbore gun with an autoloader capable of providing a fire rate of 12 rounds per minute, and powered by an ED/M-86 1250HP diesel engine, the Artemis turret armor is capable of shrugging off 125mm HEAT shells from the newly developed 125mm gun, however, APFSDS rounds and ATGMs easily pierced the turret from the side, this issue was remedied by equipping the tank with Explosive Reactive Armor kits and Active Protection System.

10 prototypes were produced one year before the end of the Artorian Civil War, one of these prototype vehicles fought in the frontline before the end of the civil war, number 333, commandeered by an elite tank commander and his highly skilled crews, managed to defeat 20 upgraded Horsa Medium Tanks and 7 of the Federal Republic's newly developed Mordred MBT.

Although more expensive than the Halberd II, the Artemis is somewhat cheaper than the Mordred, and its success prompted the Democratic Republic to phase out existing Halberd II in service with the Democratic Republic's Army.
