This is awesome! The sharp shafts of light work fantastically, and I love the level of detail on his weapons...

Thanks, it was another lighting exercise I wanted to try out as those shadows can look really interesting when cast.

Thanks :]
It was all rendered on the comp from a pencil sketch I did. Lots of layers and digital magic.

bung? whats that?
and he doesnt have a pupil in one eye, his right one, the one nearest the glow- that kinda doesn't feel right..
but CRAP this is so incredible! Ive never seen anyone pull off perspective grating in the ceiling before now- and its got glow and haze and everything! Its awesome. Do the two swords combine into each other? The short blade makes me think they might..
This is such an accomplishment. I'm so blown away. You've really done something here

the bung part is his right eye with a tiny pupil, I plan on doing a pic that show that part a bit more clearer one day :]
the ruler was very handy for the perspective and yes that is one of the features of the blades, but something I will play around with later (good eye though)
Cheers!

This guy.
Is so.
Badass. :'DDD
Seriously, his determined expression and those swords are so great and detailed.
And I can't even tell you how much the strips of light coming in from the top add to this picture. The angle and stuff is something I could never do. Kudos! >3

Wow, that's awesome! The first thing that I noticed is that the picture features a full perspective effect. Not many pictures in dA have such effect, really. Most of them are divided in planes, or have too much "zoom". Of course everything looks great! The texures, Schroder himself, and the light =]

One thing I frgot to mention though was the sword in his left arm. It looks a bit odd - either its off to the side or he's holding it in back of him. Otherwise I might be confused by that bar overhead that might be casting a shadow. If so then it kinda makes the blade look like its pointed to the ground behind him. I dunno though. I thought I'd point it out.
π: 0 β©: 1
stucat In reply to crestoe [2006-06-22 13:30:33 +0000 UTC]
there were many hours spent on those shadows and layers. I've sorted out worked out how rust stains go after walking round one of the local high schools :]
Hes holding the blade behind him and the shadow for that is over his tail. I think you right with the confusion of the bar, but it is slightly pointed towards the ground.
cheers bro!
