Description

Not everyone has access to professional diagnosis. I had to self diagnose myself with autism and gad before I got my official diagnosises.

If no one ever selved diagnosed themselves, a lot more people would die because they wouldn't go to see the doctor to find out if they actually have the condition such as the flu or an infection. Yeah, that technically counts under self diagnosis.

Chances are, a lot of people who self diagnose actually have the condition they think they have. You have no right to tell them that they don't actually have the condition unless you are their doctor and have already 100% ruled it out. But I doubt you randomly find your patients online, and I doubt your a specialist doctor on deviantart and all your patients are on deviantart too.

Self diagnosis is okay and valid.

Though I agree with your other posts i dont agree with this. Unless you're diagnosed by a doctor you are really unable to know if it's exactly the diagnosis that you think it is

While that is true, one of the first steps to getting a professional diagnosis is self diagnosing. Most self dxs are fully accepting of the fact that they could be wrong. Not to mention, doctors could be wrong - it's a very common thing to happen in medicine as a result of human mistakes.

Yes but many people take their self-diagnosis extremely seriously and thing it is 100% true.
