History: Born as Marek Svoboda, he once lived in a village in the southern parts of Czechia close to the borders between them and Austria. He lived with his loving mother and father in a house next to a river for many years. When he was 11, his village experienced something very bizarre. Random erratic attacks on the village population began to rise. Within three months these occurrences gradually escalated to more brutal assaults and in some cases killings. Marek was none the wiser during this time and continued about his daily routine. One day as Marek was attending school, there was an announcement that mass rioting was occurring throughout the village and that the national guard was going to be called in to intervene. The school was locked down and Marek along with the hundreds of schoolchildren waited until an all-clear would be given. It never came as the rioting began to spread and was reaching the area of the campus. Luckily a squad of national guard members arrived just in time and set up a defensive perimeter around the school. The school was then ordered to evacuate via coaches and a military escort. Marek as well as many others were soon ushered into a coach where they managed to leave the village unharmed though Marek could never forget the sights of his once peaceful community being turned upside down that day.

For many hours he waited as he anxiously awaited to hear the status of his mother and father and if he was going to go home soon. Unfortunately for him and a few others, finding the whereabouts of his parents had proved difficult. He was eventually told the unfortunate news that his family may not have made it. He was placed in an orphanage where he spent many greiving months in a deep depression and a further three years under an institution. Deciding he had had enough, he left his 'final message' on his dorm room bed and with a case full of supplies he headed further up north to Prague, hoping to clear his head and move on for good.

He was later found by Zofie who found him moping around in a local park and began to talk with him. They surprisingly hit it off quite well. Marek managed to tell his story to Zofie to which she took pity on him, inviting him to stay at her family's home supposedly temporarily. Marek was introduced to Zofie's elder brother Radomir and her mother and father Evka and Mikal respectively. They provided him with a spare bedroom which had went largely unused for a long while. Marek then quickly became acquainted with the family's way of life and began to help them around the house at his own volition. His efforts and kindness to the Martins led to him becoming a respected member of the family, leading to a surname change in the process. In 2013 when Zofie began her emigration process to England after joining Scarwater, he offered to tag along as he wanted to share the new adventure with her. Although hesitant at first she agreed and they both got settled into a luxurious flat in Aeredale.

-He is kind and selfless towards others.
-He often laughs off at failure instead of becoming upset.
-He is socially inept and dislikes crowds.
-He can become apprehensive and angry when under intense pressure or stress.
