Description I have to say, back in the nineties, i saw Econoline crush for the first time... and it was one of the best shows ever. I remember buying their CD and bringing it into school and listening to it in metal class. I had forgotten about that part until a friend of mine who was opening for EC reminded me..

Good memories, I really enjoyed the show tonight! And it made me happy.

Econoline Crush on Myspace

TREVOR HURST - vocals

KAI - guitar

SCOTT WHALEN - bass

BRENT FITZ - drums

This is going to sound very odd I am sure, but every time I look at this picture my brain thinks it is a painting. I don't know why but the first time I clicked on it I thought wow he painted a picture instead of taking a photo.. I didn't know he could... and then I realized it was indeed a picture. I don't know what it is about the picture that has such an almost surreal quality to my eye, but it always makes me look twice.

I absolutely love the shot. It is almost like he is a coiled spring with all this energy just under the surface waiting to be let go.

Happy Birthday! arty: I hope your next year is full of wonderful things, lots of love, and of course great things to capture your camera's eye. Have a wonderful day! Oh, and by the way 25 is NOT old you are just getting started

I am a professional music photojournalist, i take photos of bands on tour and local gigs. my photos are published in newspapers and music magazines in England, but then someone from devART comes and moves them out of their correct category - photojournalism/concerts and musicians. How dare they! why should i have to justify my work and my profession to them?

You don't have to, but you also don't HAVE to be here, nor do you HAVE to bitch about it, and you definitely don't have a right to harass the GD.

ahaha "how dare they!"

Consider starting your own website. you can put things wherever you'd like!

Being as they host your work free of charge, you certainly shouldn't be complaining about something like this.

I've personally had a few things moved by fox, as well as others. I've never said a word in complaint. it's not my site, it's managed by someone else.

It's great if your photos get published in england by whoever, but here, it's someone else's game.

Frankly i'll give the same advice i give to anyone complaining about something optional:
If you don't like it, Leave.

There's really no need to attempt to slander fox's work just because you don't agree with a decision he has made as a director of dA. It seems a bit immature to me, but maybe that's just one opinion.

I'm done posting my responses on this page. If you feel we're not done, please note me instead.

Seems to me they're musicians, on tour (which is really BOTH concerts and musicians)

a little fog and a little red light would do the background for ya.

that's my point. I am a music photojournalist and i take photos of musicians in concert and on tour as well.
DevART had no right to take my photos out of the category.

Isn't it their website?
Don't they have the right to do whatever they want?

I've found the following helpful:
FAQ #634: Why was my deviation relocated or moved?

This too:

Guidelines for Deviants;
Quality and Placement

It is our policy is to welcome artists of all levels from amateur to professional and to that end we do not attach any minimum standards of quality to deviations submitted by our membership; all manner of artworks are welcome providing they meet with our etiquette and copyright policies. While we do not impose quality standards we do ask that you practice self-moderation in what you choose to submit and that you submit your works into the most appropriate gallery. While we encourage the submission of only your very best works we have provided an area for those submissions which may fall short of that β€˜top quality’ mark; this is your β€œScrapbook” gallery and we highly encourage its use.

Our gallery directors, during the course of their routine duties, may elect to move one or more of your deviations from the Gallery categories into a different, more appropriate, section or into the Scrapbook category; we ask that you accept this decision gracefully and with a mature attitude. If you desire a full explanation for this action, or if you feel the administrative action was performed in error, you should submit an inquiry to the official deviantART Helpdesk and include a link to the relevant deviation. Please do not bring these issues into the Forums, userpages, or other areas of deviantART.

If you continue to leave rediculous comments, i will just block you from my page.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

jazzylemonade In reply to straightfromcamera [2008-03-18 07:43:47 +0000 UTC]

it's not minor TO ME. I don't want to fight with you i want to get along with everyone. BUT i don't like having my things moved like that. it's like someone rummaging in my underwear drawer. I have been attacked by other photographers when i had my equipment stolen and had to use the on camera flash in a dark pub saying it was no longer proper photography. That didn't stop it from being published in SHAM! the way it was though. I just wanted you to have an idea of what it FEELS like. so you can understand the pain of it but you CAN'T understand because you do what you want and no one questions you. I work hard on these photos, sometimes hours. The Magazines feel they are proper photojournalism, and yet you expect me to justify myself to you when you said yourself you don't like to do that to anyone else.

Tepara In reply to jazzylemonade [2008-03-18 09:03:13 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, let me get this right...
So there is nothing wrong or incorrect about the category, but because your art was moved because your art was in the wrong category for DA. You decided to wrongly accuse someone else.
Just because you have been mistreated, that is no excuse what so ever to wrongly accuse someone else. If anything its making you look stupid.
In the future I suggest instead of wrong attacking as thats what it is really, and instead of throwing a tantty, I suggest you note the admin if you really do have a problem with the image of these.
Or if all it is, is what it seems to be, and you just think your getting your own back, go about it the correct way. If you really do think your art has been moved when it shouldn't have been send a ticket to Help Desk they will then sort your problem out and help you to better understand things for the future.
As doing what you have done only makes you seem childish.
I'm sure you were upset because your art was moved.
But please keep in mind these admin ( gallery directors ) spend a lot of their free time. unpaid, out of the kindness of their hearts to keep the gallery's as clean as possible.
People like yourself who think by wrongly accusing a damn good artists that their art is in the wrong place just because yours was incorrect really don't make anyone's life any easer.

Im sure your a nice person But by leaving comments like you have done your not doing yourself an favours

No, a rhetorical statement is not crying on my pictures because i moved yours.

that is called whining.

You have not been mistreated, you were not targeted, nor were you the recipient of unfair treatment. You have been allowed to host images here for free (choosing to buy a subscription)

jazzylemonade In reply to straightfromcamera [2008-03-18 07:53:37 +0000 UTC]

no it's not called whining, it's called whinging! (pathetic attempt at a minor joke) i'm trying to make you see how i feel. what it FEELS like. how do i do that, how can you understand?
I was targeted, though, because saying anything at all you have decided to move EVERYTHING even a photo that had not been altered in any way. *heavy sigh* I just feel miserable.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

straightfromcamera In reply to jazzylemonade [2008-03-18 07:44:41 +0000 UTC]

Because they were in a category reserved for news worthy images, that had extensive image wide alterations on them. I did you a service by keeping them in the digital Darkroom category.

Please in the future read the gallery descriptions when submitting art, if not followed they could possibly be moved to the correct category, at which time you may contact the help desk if you feel it was moved improperly.
