Everyone says Escapism is a bad episode or a let down but...it really wasn't. It did it's job and it did it in a way that was entertaining, at least if you ask me anyway.

It was a bit underwhelming sURE but I adored how peaceful it was. It really felt like a throwback to season 1. It made me feel very calm...and the song was beautiful. The calm before the storm :- P

I didn't see it as underwhelming, really. Idk, to me it felt sort of like an episode that needed to happen, for Steven. It felt like he needed to go through exactly what he did in order to feel like he has a chance against the Diamonds. He's feeling vulnerable, and he needed to prove to himself that going to Homeworld, no matter how scary or rough things get, was the right call, and I believe that the way he experienced things, adding onto the fact that Escapism was a beautiful song, was the way to do exactly that.

This may have been a controversial episode, but I'm actually happy that it was Stevonnie who sung it. Maybe it wasn't what we were expecting, but the question is finally over.
