Description This was made as a sketchbook cover for the new upcoming school year. This time, though, instead of using fanart, I decided to use my OCs for it.
In regards to the symbolism behind it and what's going on in this, well..
I've been writing a story, and this picture is basically the "aftermath," or what takes place after the original story's end. In this, the main antagonist's soul doesn't entirely vanish and instead resides within a statue, far off in the mountains and away from civilization. It slowly begins to awaken again after its devastating defeat.
However, when the sides had been fighting and as the antagonist had fallen, Uncertainty (the character in dragon form) had betrayed her "true" side, having "worked" at the antagonist's side previously. She went to the opposing side and told them of the way to temporarily defeat the antagonist.
They succeeded, but at one point Uncertainty had gotten hit with a spell that started causing her to go into her Corrupt dragon form, which caused suspicion on the winning side as well. With both sides now suspicious, and one completely despising her, they sent her into exile.
Night had been on the winning side, but it took time and effort to rebuild from the devastation, along with several years for everyone to generally forget Uncertainty's exile. Only then did he venture out to try and see if Uncertainty could come out of exile.
Uncertainty eventually agreed to follow him out to civilization, but they didn't know the statue would be there, waiting for unsuspecting travelers to stumble upon its presence.
The timepiece there symbolizes the time it had taken for everything to sort of "reset" from the past, for everyone to make amends. It was also an accessory one of the characters had carried, which allowed them to rewind time (at a cost, of course; its usage isn't unlimited).
The butterfly symbolizes new beginnings. It shows there's hope for the future and it allows them all a second chance, in a sense.
Hopefully all this made sense lol, I'm trying to not put out too many spoilers and just explain the scenario in the aftermath. XD
