It takes monsters to fight monsters. In 1987, American mercenaries were sent in to resolve a rising conflict in South America. When the troops eventually arrived to their site, they were able to mow down the rebels with ease. However, they noticed that the rebel forces were significantly smaller than what they had anticipated, and the soldiers the mercenaries encountered seemed visible shaken already. The mercenaries took a few of the rebels with them after the site was cleared out for questioning. A rough translation from the brains of the team said that the rebels were being hunted by a monster. At first, the Americans didn't think much of it, until strange activity began occurring.

Like a phantom hiding in the dark, an invisible force picked off the mercenaries one by one. Major Alan 'Dutch' Sully (Dutch Schaefer + Jake Sully) and his brother Dillon Sully (Al Dillon + Tom Sully) were the only two left. They braced themselves, joining back to back to keep eyes out for the Hunter. When Dillon heard movement and diverted his attention for a split second, the Hunter killed him. Dutch managed to grab the Hunter, only to be met with a blade between his spine. Pain, grief, and anger echoed through Dutch's lungs. He dropped his weapon and crawled in the mud to get away. The Hunter no longer saw Dutch as a threat, and left, returning to his home as a victor.

Two decades passed, and the pain inside Dutch never went away. However, there were multiple sightings of Hunters across the world since his encounter. After a recent encounter with one in California, America was ready to take the fight to the Hunter's home. Sampling DNA found across the various hunting sights, the US was able to create cloned Yau'Vi (Yautja + Na'Vi). However, the scientists were uncertain of allowing the clones to be raised by humans, believing their natural hunter instincts would take over. So, a new program was created to transfer the minds of America's best soldiers to the minds of these Hunters (Predator + Avatar). After reviewing notes of the South America incident, Dutch Sully seemed like the perfect candidate to become a Hunter, having survived an encounter with home. To Dutch, this was perfect, he could finally have his vengeance and redeem himself. Although being put in a Hunter's body was less than idea, it was the only way he could fight now, after being paralyzed from his previous encounter.

Finally, the hunted had become the Hunter.

*Notes: I tried by best to make a design that radically differed from GoonKnight101 's but I couldn't land on something I was confident about. I figured I would lean into the more human element to make the story differ from his. Dutch and Jake are fundamentally two different characters, but I have been wanting Dutch to return to the Predator franchise for a long time. Although I love the direction they are going in with period pieces like Prey, a part of me still wants to see Old Man Dutch kill some more Predators and go out in a blaze of glory.
