this is very informational indeed. Ive been drawing comic for years and it's true what you said here, the key is to have fun and put yor heart into your artwork. without it, it will always look incomplete to you every time you look at your work.

I also wondered why do we make art? And the only answer I can come up with is.. It's fun to do. Even if you're bad at it, it's still fun. Look at my older drawings compared to now. I would have never improved that much if I stopped drawing. You'll always improve if you just keep at it.

On a personal note, I see that danger of loosing yourself in your artistic comfort zone for myself when it comes to drawing.
I'm conceptualizing tiny monsters for quite some time now and now did somewhat good at drawing the faces (just as in the story
