Excellent design. An old car that has been tinkered with to bring it up to date. I want to model it in 3D

This is very cool man! Very aggressive yet pleasing looking retro vehicle design, love the pipes on the sides

I'm rather fond of retro deco aesthetics myself but my work is less steampunk in theme and more retro deco futurism. There's no question there was a sense of pure artisan driven craftsmanship in the aesthetics of the 20-40s. I'll take a deco bakelite radio over modern radios any day.

Cheers!

Hey, thanks very much! Glad you like it

Deco certainly was a beautiful period for design, and is definitely one of my favourites...

VulnePro In reply to StephenCrowe [2009-11-12 09:12:35 +0000 UTC]

You're very welcome, it's just a really stylish retro design. Yeah I'm a huge fan of that period as well, it really was a nexus of many visual schools of thought coming together in one period. It seems a lot of interesting things came from that period as film noir is also one of my favorite cinematic styles as well

Also I see now you were part of WETA workshop, back in the day, and worked on some amazing films. Granted I don't know precisely what kind of fellow/boss Mr. Jackson is but I get the impression he's utterly sincere about the creative process,an artist friendly guy, and clearly is really a big genre fan (I can only assume he's a nice guy to work with too). He seems to have created a special studio in WETA that I would hope was a fun place to work. This much I do know, the work on film has been wonderful stuff so I tip my hat to you good sir

Cheers and best!

StephenCrowe In reply to VulnePro [2009-11-18 01:58:46 +0000 UTC]

Well, thank you kindly - working at Weta Workshop was a great experience, and one of the best things about it was learning a hell of a lot from the design team I was a part of, many of whom have become great friends, and at least a couple of whom lurk around these very virtual parts...

Keep up the great work!

Hey! Thanks - yeah, there are some pretty terrific examples out there when you start looking. Still, don't think I'd like one as my day to day transport... could get a bit cold and wet here in Welly - and the leather helmet would play havoc with my 'do.

Hi, thanks. That for me is going to be one of the trickiest aspects of designing this project - setting the right balance between past and future, historical and science fiction Thanks for looking!
