You wondered if the centering of the road ending should have occurred, and I have to admit that I doubt it would have made much of a difference. The difference is so slight that I only saw it when I looked for it. What is best about this photograph is the capture of texture and distance. I really like how you used black and white to take the distraction of color away from the texture, and it made the emptiness (and lack of bus) more obvious. The title seems to capture an essence of what is occurring here, and I think it fits, as neither can really be complete with out the other. The clouds look great, too, by the way. You had great weather for photography that day.
The only thing I miss is some human interaction here, but that's personal taste (it does add to the loneliness aspect). I also wish the grasses could have been in better focus, but I bet that would have been difficult if not downright impossible, so don't break your back trying to get that out.
I just understood why the road did not seem off center -because of how you placed the road sign in the photo. It counterbalanced the off-centerness of the road, and I think it works well. So, even if it was unintentional, it shows you know your stuff.
Hope that was advanced enough to help you out some. Hee, hee, I'm giddy from what you requested of me, by the way. I'm going to stop before I start rambling of prints and stuff.
