Description
Over the summer I constructed a special Doctor Who themed deck for the Magic: The Gathering variant, Elder Dragon Highlander (EDH) AKA "Commander". I liked the deck I built so much, that I decided to take things a step further and build a custom box for it to look like the TARDIS.

I started off with a standard, plastic deck box, and from those dimensions, I designed the rest of the box: I drew up the pattern, measured and cut the wood, installed the blue LED strobe, assembled the box, and painted it. In total building the box itself probably took me 36 hours spread out over the summer.

I tried to get a good picture of the inside of the box, so you could see how I mounted the switch for the LED strobe. In retrospect, I ought to have painted the insides of the panels before assembling the box, but hindsight is always 20/20.

Pictured in some of the photos are a few cards from the deck, including three planeswalkers meant to represent the three modern Doctors.
