And heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr eeeeeeee's RAPTOR!!! The one and only!I thought of Raptor long ago when I was a kid. It was during the time my favorite movie "Jurassic Park" hit the big screen. My favorite dinosaur on the movie was the Velociraptor. When I bought a stuffed dinosaur from the movie, I knew I found a friend for life! In the beginning, I called him Rapt. Sounds silly doesn't it? But I only called him that because the Velociraptors were called "Raptors" in the movie, so I called him Rapt to avoid any confusion. But since perhaps around 2004-05 to today, after quite an amount of research, I learned that real Velociraptors were only half the size as the ones in the movie, and the only dromeosaurid (as the family of raptors is called) that is really anywhere close the being 6 feet tall is the Deinonychus. Thenafter, I decided to change his name to a more sensible name: Raptor. So that's my story and I'm sticking to it! I hope you enjoy the portriat I made of him. I sure did! In fact, he looks ready to jump out into this world!

F.Y.I., Raptor IS his name! He's a Deinonychus. I know it's a bit cliche, but Raptor the Velociraptor seemed more so to me. But thanks for the suggestion.

Yep, this is the picture I was looking at when I first tried to draw Raptor. He's quickly my most favorite dino-character of all!

Really? w00t!!! You know, I had this idea for a comedy story starring him and Nexus Rex:
It's called "Dinotropolis" and it's set in our modern time with one big difference...instead of humans, dinosaurs are the dominant life form! The story centers on Nexus Rex, the albino tyrannosaur and his adventures with his best pal, Raptor! (That's right, I said it!) It also stars a wide cast of characters, including Sue and Crystal, and not to mention these guys:
Vincent "Vince": An Allosaurus with a mobster accent and attitude to match
Colin: A snobby Spinosaurus who lives to make Nexus feel obsolete
Samantha: Colin's equally snobby mate who constantly annoys Sue
Scar: Sue's cranky father who never misses a chance to give Nexus crap; but only because he wants to make sure Nexus is mature enough to be his daughter's One (I wasn't sure what you'd think, so I thought I'd pitch the idea of Sue having a crabby old father to you)
And as a bonus, you and I frequently cameo as humans wandering the streets(I will appear as myself, not as Nexus)

Sounds pretty good. Just one little question: what does " you and I shall cameo as humans" mean? Don't get me wrong, I just don't know what that means is all.

It means from time to time, you and I will show up as our normal human selves, since our characters Nexus and Raptor will already be there. Think of it as the original and the altar ego existing in the same plane of reality. Does that clear it up?

I might just be saying this because Velociraptors are my favourite dinosaurs of all, but this is flurking schweet! Rapt, was it? Or was it Raptor?
Anyway, the thing that I really like is his smirking. He looks a little cartoonish (I don't meen anything bad by that)! Like he's plotting someones doom...
Let's just sum this comment up and say that I like this and all your other works I've checked trough.

Well, he CAN be abit sinister at times *looks at Raptor and sees him chuckle* But for the most part he is a very reliable friend. Oh, and he was originally considered a Velociraptor, but my research taught me that a Deinonychus, a relative of Velociraptor, was much more close to the size as he is.
Getting to the fact of you as a Yugioh-nerd, I say welcome to the club and be proud of who you are! And I'm very positive we're not the only ones!

You should start doing linearts and test-coloring in Photoshop. It's the next 'evolutionary' step for your developing art style!
