Depends, really. I for one had to grind a lot of levels for vit and str on my greatsword character AND still had to summon the Londor Pale Shade to distract him and give me time to heal and regenerate stamina. The curved sword character had an easier time since he also had a parrying dagger so he got him on the third try...with a kukri to the face because i was too much of a little bitch to risk that last sliver of health I had left.
Then again, the beasts in the Water Reserve are a nightmare no matter the build. Fuck those things.

FUCK THOSE DOGS IN THE WATER RESERVE. I had to go to the PvP Arena and get someone, I spammed the "I'M SORRY" rock the entire time I led them back to the ladder. Then at the ladder, more "I'M SORRY"s, combined with pointing down towards the ladder. We went down together, and IDK if it was their build or what, but they killed the dogs in 3 hits each. Unbelievable.
