Wow, this is so beautiful.
I just saw the sketch, and your colored it so well. You gave her an appropriate skin tone to handle white hair. Her eyes are simply mesmerizing with that earthy tone of gold. They contrast well with the cooler colors you use elsewhere. The pink flowers are really well done. Mind if I fav this lovely work?

Aww, thank you so much.
Did you ever read the book?

Oops, I just realized I forgot to mention it in the description.
She's from "The Neverending Story". Most people know only the movies so I wanted to give an insight into the book's character descriptions (which are quite different).
...Yeah, I just noticed, I'm advertizing books left and right.

lol. That's okay. I love reading, so I'm not complaining.
I actually have never seen the movie. Yeah, I know. XD; I've seen all the funny pop-culture refs, though.
In those transitions, either the movie is pretty spot on (Pride and Prejudice mixed events and chapters well to fit time) or a lot gets lost in translation (Catch-22 X_x; egads).
I always want to go read the book before I see the movie, so I can compare them. I'm nerdy like that. 8B

I usually prefer books over movies and "The Neverending Story" is no exception. The first movie is watchable when you see it as a fun adventure movie for children. But the book is so much more than that. It has a very deep message and manages to convey it without being annoying. Although it's a children's book it is one of my all time favorites.

Yeah. Movies just can't easily explore different aspects and levels that books can. It's why adaption is so hard. Like how they missed a whole lot with the Chronicles of Narnia. *dies* It's okay as a movie, but the books offer you so much more without being super-preachy like other stories in it's class.
Oh, a lot of my favorites are children's books, too. As a kid, you see the initial layer and enjoy that; but with some of them, as you grow up you read more into it. It's like peeling an onion.

You actually like the flowers? I wasn't too sure whether or not to include them but as you told me single colour backgrounds are pretty boring so I tried to paint some magnolias. I left them rather unrefined though - partly because of laziness partly because I didn't want to distract from her.
I made the eyes a bit darker now (not much though - actually I liked them lots already) but I just couldn't bring myself to use more shadows. I just didn't seem to me as if that would fit the character. I tried to include more colors in her skin tone though, so at least this has been an experiment in that direction - but not an overly bold one, I'm afraid.
What can I say, I'm a coward and a slow learner.
