ok - so i love the reality captured here - the depth in his eyes, the reality, the starkness and the texture as only picked up in B/W! Brilliant....

Another wonderful capture. I am very impressed. These all seem like sniper shots.. the camera is just so unintrusive. With this one you can see how much he cares in his eyes, yet you can also see that he is trying to teach his son an important lesson.

What a wonderful shot! Was this an authentic situation? I really like the man's features and eyes. If only this would be less blurry!

yes I like to capture people at their most vunrable (but in a good way)...As much as this guy didn't like the facial features, I think his face has absolute character.

That's what I think too. Anyway, great shot. You couldn't get the same result with a set up.

I really love this. You took a picture from a conversation, a lecture. It's very realistic. Congrats on your award by the way.

I really like this one, just looking through your gallery it was the first one to catch my eye. It really looks like something out of a movie, or a promotional picture that would end up being a poster or something. It shows so much.

The intensity in the glance contrasts with the rather smooth lines of his face creating a sweet athmosphere. The kid on the foreground and the dark but slightly textured background are the icing on the cake ! Perfect portrait again ! Fav again !

It's making me think. So emotional and ambiguous. I'm little frightened, but this means this photo is great.

I really, really like this one. It has so much space, and so much is happening in it. Hundreds of ideas set off in my head.

I see this man trying to tell a child (his?) something that he feels he has to know, and the boy tries to listen even though he doesn't understand because he senses the importance, the depth, of what the man is saying.

This has a conversational quality to it, as if you captured it at just the right moment to communicate that. The slight blur takes some getting used to, however.

wow very intersting deviation, the position of both faces makes it look as if the chiuld would be looking thorugh an (inverted) old version of his own, a mirror to the future or sth like that.

Wow... there is so much emotion in this photo, and what I love most is how natural and in the moment it seems - like it was not at all posed for. The mans look is very powerful, almost intimidating but more so like he is there... wanting to help, or listen to the little boy. His eyes look really sharp, though he does seem a little blurry but no matter.

Another beautiful portrait, and superb use of black & white

Interesting I too think that the shot of his face is rather impressive there i some blur to it but it gives the sese of intensity. Or at least hightens it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SteavieLea In reply to Engel08 [2005-10-11 05:40:28 +0000 UTC]

I deliberately focused on the eyes, I wanted the kid out of focus which gave the mans' face that small amount of blur.

I have another one I want to put up, where I focused on the wrinkles.....

Thanks for the comment!

They mans eyes make this shot, he would probably make a great Marlboro man or something.

Thanks Lori,

I have taken this guys photo in the past, and as a favour removed the wrinkles etc for him....I am thinking this photo may not go down too well with him, however, these days.... I like to capture raw and real photos. I just think it adds character without even trying!!!

for you!
