I pixeled this few weeks ago, and I shared it only with few people because I was really hoping I would animate it, I'm kinda disappointed having to post it now.. I just don't think I'm skilled enough with animations to make any animation that the piece would have a benefit from, and I'm really busy..
It's a piece based on a project I worked on in past, and I'm looking forward to working on it once again in future,Β
I just wanna get better at pixel art and have a finished project before I decide to start working on it..

It looks great! As for an appropriate animation, making the girl blink, and the dragon swish it's tale would be perfect I think.

The animation I had in mind would show more what the actual game would be about..
It would show the knight going up the stairs to rescue the princess, but she would throw bucket of water on him and make him fall off, the water would also wake up the dragon and get knight even in more trouble.. Since she's mad at the Knight :- )

This is precious, the color scheme is so bright and whimsical. The dragon is dangerous looking and yet almost cuddly!! Dont give up hope on finishing it, it's ok to pt things on the side for a while, even a long while.

Thank you! However the actual game won't look like this.. It might follow the same style (or maybe I got for more realistic style) but it won't be isometric :- )

The colours, textures, and overall style in this are beautiful. The swirlies that make up the leaves and grass are an unexpected and interesting way to suggest texture, in particular.
However, this image suffers from a serious case of pillow shading . If a scene doesn't have a light source, I think it's better to default to lighting from above rather than from the front, so that it isn't flattened. A clear, non-frontal direction to your light would allow you to establish forms, which would make everything read more clearly. The dragon in particular suffers from not having its forms defined, and reads more like a mass of (beautifully textured) scaly red with a face than a creature with presence in the scene.
