If that's the same picture as in your coscom avatar I've actually been wondering; how did you get that effect on the armour? It looks very convincing.

It is the same photo, yes.
Most people think I used leather for the armour, which is actually really off. This is craft foam (Like this: [link] ), which was patterned into strips to make my armour. The pieces were attached with glue and sealed with it as well.
I started with a brown colour foam (like the one in the example photo), and added shadows/wear with a combination of black and brown shoe polish. It was the more waxy kind, that goes on with a really stiff brush.
Tedious for sure, but so worth it! The whole armour was maybe $20 to make total?
