My entry for 's contest.I chose to draw Elijah because he immediatly appealed to me in the way that those that become my favourite characters of all time do.. I didn't even read the bios after his, I knew I had already found the character for me to draw.
A lot of effort was put into this, especially since I've been dealing with.. shit. My drawing motivation kinda went downhill for a couple of days, but I pushed myself out of it. I'm sure that this wouldn't have turned out so well without the immense love that I have for my Twinthing, so, it's doubles as a gift too, basically. Aside from some Harry Potter fanart, this is the first thing I've done from only a text discription. Took me about 8 hours. Just a guess, not sure.
Ohmygod Iamsoessited. I'm going to be the illustrator for Mysteries! My dear Elijah, you will be drawn again, sometime soon.
Oh yeah, chickadees are fucking cute.

This is really interesting. I get a sense of this person when I'm looking at the picture, and it kind of unsettles me because the sense is so strong (even though I can't explain it, haha) but, if I'm to break it down, the parts appear quite simple. It's good. It reminds me that people don't need to look interesting to be interesting.

Ah the bird is freaking sweet, and the pose of Elijah is just so.... real. I said this before on your stuff, but I get a real sense of character from your art.

He's so cute. I love the way you shaded his clothing--it looks so soft! I always fail at shading like that, even though I think it looks really nice.

Okay so I'm spazzing all over our IM window right now so you already know I'm totally in love with this.
This...this is my boy right here. Like...down to the tee. Exactly like I picture him in my head. trghutrg
Everything is just so amazing. You took my simple description and gave it all kinds of life like you had Twitchbrain Vision or something. Completely intuitive knowledge of his character.
Especially the little bird. That detail isn't even in the description and yet you just KNEW about his affinity for animals. Seriously...it really is like we're twins or something. And boy is it ever beautiful. You showed me your ref and it's like...just flawless.
The hat is exactly like it should be. A perfect replica of the hat I own which I gave to Eli in the story.
His hair...perfect. I have a detailed, full-life picture of Eli in my head and you've captured it in all it's shaggy glory.
His eyes. rtbgfvryt He's not even looking at me and just...they are so captivating. And really...the fact that he ISN'T looking is perfect too. That's him. Never looks anyone in the eye. Always looking off into somewhere else.
His expression is just so solemn and sad and once again just exactly as it should be. hugrtsergfe I can't get over how incredibly him it is.
You nailed his wardrobe to perfection too. The extra long sleeves of the jacket, the pockets...the style of jacket is exactly what I was looking for. The t-shirt = also perfect. Pants = exact style I was looking for as well. ghygtergrfdcsrtfvrt HOW DID YOU JUST KNOW? D: I DON'T GET IT.
The posing is incredible. The colours spot on. The shading immaculate. Background simple but completely complimentary.
The whole thing is just lovely and beautiful and tear-inducing beyond words.
You really took him straight from my head and heart and gifted him to the world for all to see. It's so amazing to have someone just GET my character for all he is.
It's incredible, Twinthing. And I love it so very much I can't even describe it. And after the night I've had (you know why) this was the perfect thing to brighten it.
