Awe, he turned out very well! So white and fluffy, and you got his blue eyes right (they are yellow in the book but pale blue in the film). Thanks very much! Alexander says "thumb claw up!".

The book isn't so much read as looked at, since it has fewer than 100 or so words. It released in 1963 long before you (and even I) were born and won Mr. Sendak several awards. As an artist I'll be curious to know what you think of his animation style.

If you get around to watching the 2009 Spike Jonze movie version please let me know what you think. People seem to either really like it or really hate it, so for whatever reasons it elicits fervent if not polarizing reactions. There are parts of it I don't care for, but the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, and I feel the movie allows one to relive certain emotions associated with the end of childhood. Having never married or had children, I needed something like this to help me realize that in many ways I was a bit like one of Peter Pan's Lost Boys and hadn't ever really said farewell to childhood.

Also I wrote a story about the movie from Alexander's POV, so if you see the movie and want a short story to read during one of your insomniac episodes just let me know as I'd love to know what you think of it.
