Not exactly. She's kind of a "Daria" type character; very blunt in her mannerisms, and she doesn't broadcast her emotions. It makes for a lot of amusing banter with "normal" passionate characters. XD

I don't think she thinks of it as sarcasm though. She just states it. She's happy, it's a fact, she doesn't look happy but SHE IS

Well I mean more the irony of her body language, rather than her spoken language. Also the irony of expecting the final word in this "Two Sides" piece to indicate something fearful or bad, but in actuality is just "happy".
So the irony comes more from what people expect from Maud, versus what she gives them, rather than from Maud herself being actively sarcastic.
That's why I love Maud. She challenges the assumptions people make in an authentic way.
