Krystal in her original style.Before "Dinosaur Planet" became part of the Starfox Universe, Krystal was no fox but of a strange vulpine-feline race. I liked her much more at that time. She was more a mystic heroine than a damsel in distress.

Actually she was a fox. But I absolutaly love the older design of her, when I play adventures, I just think that this was her a little younger. Just cause, how quickly do teens change in two years? She could have grown a bob of hair and her fur darkened.

I really love this art, this is how Krystal sould have looked like.
I faved it not because of your skilled talent in art, but also the very orginal design you gave her and not the fox design.
btw, i have plans on try to revive the old Dinosaur Planet game and recreate it as a new game, sounds interesting?

Nintendo made a mistake by changing Dinosaur Planet into a Star Fox game, they just wanted it to be more 'mainstream!' THey didn't think the game could stand on it's own. So they stuffed sci-fi into it. They also felt that Krystal needed to be more 'eye candy.'

I agree with you. In that game, she was more independent, and she didn't need to be saved. She also had a better outfit... MUCH better...

i like the now-known carachter of krystal fox....but i consider more better-comunicative the older carachter drawn in the picture...she had a more solid, brave, and warrior appearance.....she seemed less "aquatic" and vanishing than krystal fox is now, she seems more prideful and sure-of-herself than the modern appearance...surely...she seems less "female" and "intimate" and "introspective" than now...definitely she seems less "destabilizing" than now.....i like that "warrior woman appearance", makes me feel "stable"!!!!...and it's funny to think that the most part of mens have fear of the "Too much Fighter woman"...not me, aye!!!!

That "Warrior Woman" thing is quite important. Why would a "innocent fox-girl" choose to stand up against somebody like General Scales? Because she's brave and self-confident. She's no Princess Toadstoal that needs to be saved all the time. She's rather a Samus, who can do quite a lot on her own.

aw. i too, liked the original Krystal better. she was so much cuter. and seemed like she had much more of a personality, too. i like her better as her own, independent character rather than just a d-i-d and a love interest that needs saving all the time.

Strictly speaking she's not from Starfox, she's from a game that became a Starfox title some in the middle of the project. Some internal trouble between N1ntendo, R@re and Micr0soft I think.

Well, Sabre's place was taken by Fox McCloud and Randorn, the wizard who raised Krystal, simply was taken out of the story. 
I don't know what was the incident with N:ntendo and R@re, but R@re was taken by Micro$0ft short time after Starfox Adventures was released.
