I was trying to give her a more distinct look. I think it kind of worked but I'm not sure if it's still the "classic" Diana that everyone knows.

that's the thing with WW...i don't think there is a classic version. Trinna Robbins, George perez, Garcia Lopez, Bolland, Hughes....all a have what i think could be called "classic" looks, and yet, they're all distinctly different.
i like what you've done...and if you refined it , i'm sure anyone could take her as wonder woman.

Is this a Wonder Woman costume I am unfamilliar with? I'm not used to her having shorts I guess...

It was somewhere around the golden and silver-age, if I remember right. I know Matt Wagner drew her with shorts a few years back during Superman/Batman/Wonder Woman: Trinity.

I drew from older versions of the costume. I almost put her in the lace up ballet flats but I got lazy toward the end I think.

Can I ask what inspired you to draw her face as you did here? She's got VERY strong cheek bones and a wideset mouth, not ugly but certainly not traditionally beautiful or how i'm used to seeing her drawn.

Seeing as how Diana is an Amazon I wanted to go with a look that set her apart from all the cookie-cutter supermodel features that everyone else seems to use when depicting her.
Nothing wrong with that of course, just me trying something different to give her a more ethnic look I guess. I think maybe I failed in what I was going for here though and if I ever do take this to a more finished piece I can see what I need to do to make it work even better.
