good shot, touch soft maybe but then the iso is quite high - i don't think theres much wrong with the composition - the wing of the bird could be a little further into the shot and maybe a little more colour in the flower...but technicalities on a nice shot - wish i had the opportunity to have a go at these!!

Thanks for your comments!
I always had a hard time understanding ISO...I would randomly set it. I actually know what it means now :B haha.
Good points on the composition. Hopefully I'll have another chance to re shoot this one!

No probs! Yes - best way to learn how to use a camera is trial and error, then read a few magazines and pick up bits and pieces as you go!! Good luck when you get another chance - best tip i've found, is to keep shooting lots of images, changing things as you go, altering settings, position etc, that way you can sometimes find by accident the best setting, then all you have to do is remember it for next time!

This is a very eye catching shot, i really like it, although the iso is too high- its very graney and the colours look a bit desaturated other wise you caught the shot amazingly.
by the what, what kind of Tamron lens did you buy?

Thanks for your comments.
Its so tough to catch those little guys with a lower ISO - I tried but none game out as clear as this one.

Considering the subject and the inherent dificulties in shooting these beautiful but fast little jewels I think the composition is just fine. Congratulations, this is a very nice shot.

Awesome, Great choice of shuttertime! It looks like you could have used a lower ISO though, there is a bit noise on the picture.

I think the composition is right on. I love the colors and details of the bird and the flowers.
BTW, do you like your Tamron lens?

I have two Tamrons, and they don't seem to give me any problems. But I asked a professional photographer about them and he said they're no good. ???
