Sorry for inaccuracies in the outfit. The renders on the wiki aren't very clear... I wanted to draw Xion in the armor this way. x'3 More art to prove I'm not dead and get back into the swing of things? Yay!There's nothing I particularly like or dislike about Xion. She just is. The amount of people who flipped out over her sudden appearance is ironic in comparison to the fact that when Namine was introduced the fanbase was still virtually nonexistent and no one complained about her as loudly or for as long as people complained about Xion. Xion is important in ways you clearly don't understand if you can't accept her existence in the series.
I don't give a damn that she's female, that she was declared member 14, or that she's buddybuddy with Roxas and Axel. The most important things about her are things that aren't even explained to you up front. She's engineered from partial memories and yet she's capable of stability.
Think for one deep moment over why Organization XIII, specifically Xemnas, might care about this, other than fact she can wield a Keyblade. If you can realize the true reason: Xehanort would seek to be reborn, not just cloned, but literally and wholly transplanted into a blank existence where he no longer has to deal with third party go-betweens such as Terra and Riku. The Organization's experiments with both memories and cloning show the obvious conclusion: she's probably a beta version of a much larger project in which Xehanort himself is the subject.
But Xion is, in personality, not Sora, not Roxas, not Ventus, and definitely not Vanitas. She is not the hero and she is not the villain. The hows and whys of how the game ended can be pretty vague from an outsider's perspective, so if you haven't played it yourself, you might want to brush yourself up on the wiki before blindly hating a character you know little about. Granted, there is little to know, but if you're only seeing the superficial sides to her and not her actual purpose within canon - you need to do some re-evaluating.

Xion is awesome. I too have thought about how Xion was just part of a much larger program. I mean, it doesn't make sense that in the 10 years between the Organization's forming and Vexen's death, that there would only be two clones in the entire Replica Program. The Replica Program seems to be a plot point not a lot of people notice, and I have a feeling Nomura is going to throw it up in our faces again soon.
Anyway, I digress. I love how you drew this. She looks so sad and beautiful.

I agree. I speculate the Xehanort we see in Dream Drop Distance may only look the way he does (young) because Sora and Riku never knew him. They see him as their age, because of that? He may actually be able to take on the looks Ansem, Xemnas and Riku(Repliku?). Purely speculation on my art, but all their appearances in the trailers could actually just be the same singular entity!

Interesting theory. I have a farfetched one that has no real base and I don't put much into, but I've always wondered if there's an army of Xions lol. I mean, the way Xemnas was so chill about Saix telling him she died made me think that he has everything under control.

Eh, I've been pretty neutral with Xion since the beginning- I don't like her at all, no, but I far from hate her. *shrug* The one thing I never liked about her is how a lot of people paired her up with Riku. I just really don't see that ever happening. If anything, I'd say they were just friends. The reason he had contact with her was because so he could wake Sora up, same with Roxas. If they really 'loved' each other, like some believe, I would think Riku would have tried to find a different way to wake Sora up without having to delete her from existence, seeing how dedicated he is.
Either way, though, I digress. I may not have any particular hate nor love for Xion, but I still cried when she died a bit. So I don't mind her too much. If anything, I probably liked her most when she went all almost-final-boss like this xD
Very good job on this, though, I think you did a great job on the outfit, actually~ I like how you made it seem almost more like armor like the Birth by Sleep trio has, not just her in monster form. I like how much detail you used, as well, seeing as how you're right about there being not many clear renders of it. Very nice job <3

Without the helmet it's much less monstrous~ I didn't quite notice just how much it looked like the Birth by Sleep trio's armor until I took a second glance. You're right!
I don't agree with the Riku/Xion pairing either. Riku's much too loyal of a person to those he cares about. He cared about Sora too much to do anything but what he did, and if he cared more about Xion, he would have sought out alternatives for her. The same easily goes for Riku/Roxas pairings. It looks nice in art form, but there's absolutely no room for those pairings to make sense.

Yeah, I really most certainly don't understand RikuRoxu. I mean, sure, I support a lot of 'crack' pairings, but I still think Riku and Roxas is more 'crack' than most. Roxas really isn't much like Sora- it's not like he wants to be friends with everyone and/or is forgiving like Sora is. I wouldn't be surprised if Roxas downright hated Riku, and I wouldn't blame him if he did. If I were practically strangled to death, kidnapped and brought to a crazed man like Ansem the Wise, then more or less brainwashed and stuck into a digital replication of a world that was important to me, I'd hold grudges against Riku, too. Not that I don't think such actions were uncalled for, but I really don't think Roxas would really want to go and have a grand ol relationship with Riku after all of that xD

I find it pretty sad that she died.
A beta version of something larger...you know, that make sense. I didn't think of it that way. If she could wield the keyblade - a Replica who ended up...dying...>.> - then maybe Xehanort could get his key back. I never thought of it that way.
Then the Riku Replica would also be a prototype.

Indeed. But if Xehanort made just a copy of himself, what he think of himself? Villains who use others aren't beyond using themselves, in most cases. I don't imagine Xemnas and Ansem getting along any better than an old MX and a young clone. If you share a body with your clone, does that even make you two people? Not hardly. So I don't imagine it to just be a replica. Perhaps a clone and a vessel.

I mean, I can understand if people just hate her character, but that is a really stupid reason in my pov...

If they have reasons that aren't 'because she gets in the way', it's still a better reason, whatever the reason is. She is a bit useless in battle, I suppose. xD That's one thing to hold against her, anyway. The other issue one could take with Xion is that she's a ret-con that didn't exist within the series itself until recently. That the entire series once happened without us even knowing she existed and it just 'worked'. Suddenly there she is and we didn't even know? I personally don't dislike her for that, I dislike whoever came up with the idea to introduce a character who wasn't there to begin with just to remove them like they weren't there. It's not her fault, at any rate, that she wasn't originally involved or even thought of when KH2 actually came out.
With Kairi as an example... I wouldn't dare dislike her because she gets in the way of Riku x Sora. That's far from why I have issues with Kairi. I'm over most of my issues now, but my biggest two problems with Kairi came with her attitude towards Riku. 'Let's just take the raft and go!' Without Riku? Who built most of it? How nice, Kairi. Or near the end of the game, when Riku is Ansem's prisoner but Kairi is finally safe. Her text response is something along the lines of 'Oh, he can handle himself. I'm sure he's fine.' It's trying to be comforting, but it's highly inaccurate. He used up the last of his strength to keep her from being Heartless chow and she doesn't seem a bit concerned for his safety in the matter. I don't even truly dislike Kairi as strongly as I once did, but there were reasons there that weren't 'just because she gets in the way of this pairing over here'.

Really she wasn't helpful in a fight? I find that somewhat strange, when ever I played with Xion as my back up I didn't have anything to worry about.The others though, I hated their guts so much in a fight that I cursed at them to often for my liking.
