*generating .hdr file is possible by photomatix itself also, however i prefer photoshop, cause i think it gives a more efficient result.

Photoshop keeps telling me that there is not enough dynamic range to make an HDR file

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

srpsrds In reply to KoontzPhotography [2010-01-05 12:38:11 +0000 UTC]

thats because you've probably took only one shot and then adjusted its exposure by yourself.. so that photoshop can tell the difference between originally different exposured photos and modified ones..

How can I change the exposure level on a SONY
Model DSC-W55 digital camera ? (the point-and-shoot one)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

srpsrds In reply to melinda184 [2009-08-09 16:28:49 +0000 UTC]

you can not change the exposure level on most of the compact cameras, as well as yours.. however there may be a bracketing option, you should look it up..

fyi, photoshop CS can only merge photos to create a panorama, NOT hdr.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

srpsrds In reply to grygon [2009-06-20 18:04:01 +0000 UTC]

fyi, it does merge to get HDR.

unless there's a "trick" to get it to work with HDR and not just panoramas, just admit that you're too lazy to edit your tutorial.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

srpsrds In reply to grygon [2009-06-26 09:30:03 +0000 UTC]

its no problem to edit the tutorial really, but it has been sometime since i have prepared the tutorial and since im not able to access my home computer for a while I didnt have any chance to check the information. whatever the result is, if you are right thank you for the comment, anyways I've used the photomatix in this tutorial so does not matter.

grygon In reply to srpsrds [2009-06-26 10:37:20 +0000 UTC]

was just letting you know, since all i have to use is PS.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

srpsrds In reply to grygon [2009-06-27 11:50:51 +0000 UTC]

ive just got my hands on my computer and here is the process: File > Automate > Merge to HDR. i guess thats enough..

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

grygon In reply to srpsrds [2009-06-27 19:56:47 +0000 UTC]

yeah, in PS one it's File - Automate - NO HDR. it's not there. in PS1 your only choice is to merge a panorama series.

i cant believe youre still arguing.. this has no importance to the tutorial, no significant difference does it make.. just leave it..

srpsrds In reply to srpsrds [2009-06-27 11:52:23 +0000 UTC]

Moti-Yehezkeli [2009-05-23 13:46:16 +0000 UTC]

Thank you for this tutorial. I would like to ask you why don't you use the photomatix also for the exposure blending for making the x.hdr file? Why using the Photoshop for that? Is Photoshop hdr file better?

Thank you for your support,
Moti.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

srpsrds In reply to Moti-Yehezkeli [2009-05-28 11:25:48 +0000 UTC]

as i wrote in the description "*generating .hdr file is possible by photomatix itself also, however i prefer photoshop, cause i think it gives a more efficient result.". however this explanation was for the date. the up to date version of photomatix gives even a better result than photoshop.. thank you for mentioning..
