Thank you! I am proud of it...it's the best watercolor I think I've ever done. Definitely one of my favorites, especially of this mare. She's really beautiful in person!

You're welcome! She's a gorgeous horse in your painting, so I can't imagine how beautiful she must be in person.

She's breathtaking. The first time I saw her at a show, my mouth dropped open. There is nothing like a pretty Arab all dressed up in silver bling.

Oh definitely! I believe that. Someday my goal is to go to an Arabian show and get a lot of nice photo references.

If you're ever looking for some Arab photos, let me know, as I have some from some shows I've went to.

There always are. It's nice to see some new faces too, and of course the Friesians are always impressive to photograph!

Mmm, ah yes! I'd have to say Friesians and Arabians are my two favorite breeds. I've photographed a Friesian once, and she was a lot of fun to watch.

Oh, they so are! I tend to pass over the QH's and such when Arabs are around! I especially love the in-hand halter classes!

Oh defintely! My favorite has to be the liberty classes, though I have yet to be lucky enough to see one with Arabs. I had my mini participate in one. X)

I have only seen one liberty class, that was years ago and sadly not Arabs. I would love to see a liberty class with Arabs too. That would be awesome! I have minis too...I get a liberty class everyday with the one little mare...she goes crazy when you turn her out, it's so cute. The show coming up in a couple weeks has some mini classes in it...I can't wait!

Well, maybe someday we'll both be able to see one! How many minis do you have? I have two of them--Star (an 11-year-old palomino pinto gelding) and Blue (a 10-year-old gray stallion). Blue unfortunately always makes me catch him when it's time to bring him in from the pasture, but Star was the one I had in a liberty class when he was about 2 or 3. I haven't been to any other shows since then, but they are sure fun to watch! I hope you have a lot of fun there.

We only have two, and they're mares. One is a black mare named Mama (silly name but it fits her and her attitude!) and the other mare is a palomino paint named Lucy. Usually they're pretty good at capturing when it's time to bring them in, as they come up to the gate. Lucy usually goes haywire when you turn her out and acts like a mad thing, running and bucking. I absolutely do have fun with them, although they can be a handful. But they're so cute.

Aww, so cute! Black horses are by far and away my favorite color. Blue was born solid black with a tiny white star on his forehead, but he's pretty much grayed out now (lol, I wish he had stayed black!). Oh, that's so much fun to watch when they act all crazy like that! My guys go straight for the grass, so they don't really go crazy all that much.

Mama (who is black) is really graying out in her head too...but she still acts like a youngster! Β I think my girls spend more time running and grooming each other than actually eating grass! Β It's so fun to watch them though! Β

Steph, I know you've been having trouble lately with watercolour but you HAVE to believe in yourself, this one is some of the finest watercolour work I've seen. You clearly put your all into it, whichever medium you use. The work is so finely done, I don't know how you do it. You're an inspirational artist!

Thanks Amanda! You've been inspirational to me. Your work is just outstanding! I think with the struggle I had with the shoulder on this one just burned me out. It's happened to me before so I'll just take a break from it, gather my wits and try again.
