As usual, my scanner flopped miserably and bleached all the fine detail out of his face and gloves

Anyway, this is my second attempt at drawing a good coloured picture of Yisrayl (from my original anime concept 'Falling As They Might') on his own. My first attempt started out well, then I ruined it first by trying to cut corners and colour in a background in felt tip (which destroyed the fine detail on the hair and quite frankly looked - bleep - anyway), then trying to salvage it by cutting Yisrayl himself out, so I just screwed the whole thing up and started again here.

I think I managed to get Yisrayl's hair quite nice here - for the first time I actually sketched out how his head would look without hair, and discovered that I've been drawing his head way too short up to now. I also tried to make the individual spikes look more like tufts, which is how they would look, since he's supposed to come from a pseudo-medieval setting. However, there's something seriously wrong with his left shoulder and arm - I don't think the foreshortening really works with his shoulder line here. Anyway...
