I really wonder how you do that smooth effect. I suppose it's some blur that's been tweaked up, but I can't imagine how. Do you have a technique for this?

Yeah. I'm working on one. I was thinking of doing a tutorial on it after I finish, but I'm not sure how much demand there is for this style. It's relatively simple I do believe.
