You could even attempt to draw them together if you wanted, for Sunni her big thing is sunflowers and for Apple totally can go for apple blossoms or jasmine flowers. You know part of wants me to Maribelle in this style as well

It's totally fine dear, I was only throwing a suggestion like you when toss a kid so they'll ride a bike....that's how you do it right? So far a few idea for poses that popped in my head was apple resting his head on sunni(of note you can adjust outfits or change them), there is dance pose note sure what it's called, but it's popular where each partner has an arm behind the other's back and they hold their hands in front kind of like what you see with tango.
Sorry rambling, but no it's perfectly fine to keep them separate. You've seen their personality quirks so yeas have fun^^
