Description ...This destruction was her fault, now.

She struggled over boulders, wooden beams, remains. She dodged random battles through the alleys as she rushed to her destination. She fought against tripping over her own skirts, her own cloak, trying to see through the rain that was now pouring down from every direction. She felt young again, the adrenaline running through her veins, as memories from the hidden past reminded her of the last time this had happened.

“I made it,” she mumbled under her hood, sweeping to the side, escaping into the temple, or what was left of it. She saw the alter glowing amongst the dirt and dust of the city, and the wet, red carpet muted her steps as she was drawn to it, resolution in her eyes as she knelt in prayer before the three stones.

“Goddesses, grant me strength in this time of need. Save these people, save this kingdom… I sacrifice myself for their peace. Please, oh Goddesses… Accept my offering…”

Just another excerpt from my Zelda fanfic. I've posted a few of these lately. I've actually debated slightly changing the name of the title, because the plot has completely changed since first dubbing it Princess to the Past, but I am so used to calling it Pttp, that we will just have to see how this goes.

Anyways, although this doesn't actually occur IN the fanfic, it is an important part of it, and sets up a string of major events. Without spoiling it, all I can tell you is that it is a fanfic that takes place after Ocarina of Time, and sets up the happenings for Twilight Princess. As time goes on, I think it will also include minor references from Skyward Sword, but I'm still working on that.

I'm with on this! The lighting and shadows really sets up the mood of the piece! You did a wonderful job with the fire, scenery, and the sadness of Zelda(?) in both the tears and her saddened pose...

All in all, fantastic work on this pic!

Yep, Zelda. haha, I guess I never did point that out, oops. Anyways, thanks! It was an older sketch that I had to pull out and rework, and I'm thrilled with the outcome.

Quite all right, I figured it was her. Just had to be sure.

You're welcome! It really came out wonderfully, and I'm glad that you are satisfied with the outcome!

Wow, love the mood of this piece! It's so (fittingly) dramatic. You're really great with light and shadows.

Thanks It was too bright at first, so I messed with the rain and mist, and added a layer of complete black and lowered the opacity. And it completely changed the picture, and I loved it

Very nice! I like that about the digital medium; it's amazing how you can find simple ways to drastically change a picture's mood.
