xD I just love comparing Detective Conan and Magic Kaito. I thought these two panels were perfect examples of how Aoyama-san re-used his characters. that's Aoko Nakamori and Kaito Kuroba on top, with Ran Mouri and Shinichi Kudo on the bottom.He's probably a pretty sentimental guy, no? He keeps doing crossovers with his stuff, too. Not like that's a bad thing - I'd be sentimental about the characters in my mangas too, if I had any.
'Cause really, if you delete the letters, they could very well be the same panel.

I knew about Conan before Kaito . Heck , the only reason I knew about Kaito is because he appeared in Detective Conan . I honestly mistook one for the other a number of times . And the relationship between them and the girls - Add Heiji and Kazuha into the mix - are near identical especially with the tsundere thing :/ .

haha...yes...this is interesting. MK and DC (which really also has the initials MK in Japanese: Meitantei Konan) have several similar characters...but its nice to see what Aoyama-sensei tries to change to make them have the subtle differences (i.e. changing one wacky hairstyle into another). I like the crossovers and wish they happened more... but I suppose that would make them less "special."

Yeah, I guess.. Though it always kinda bugged me that Kaitou Kid's appearances in DC were always like, "Special guest star time!" and it never goes any deeper than that. I mean, the two series might as well be rolled into one, really. Why can't Conan and Kaito team up in the manga instead of just in the films? -__-'

Yes, I think a lot of us want the organization that they are going after to be the same...but it is stated that Aoyama said they are not. Nevertheless there seems to be a similarity in purpose. I would really like to see a final showdown with the two taking on both their enemies, helping one another. I have a fanart diptych planned to show both stories side by side with the organizations they are up against.

Curse you Aoyama.. Ruining a perfectly awesome plot element that he could have used to his advantage. Oh well. At least Fanon has it right.
