First time digital painting this way in a while. I decided to do something completely different, after I spent ages on a piece that was more like my recent stuff, only to have it completely flop (which is why I haven't posted anything to my gallery in so long). Just keep swimming, and all that.I painted this to the song "Reptile" by Nine Inch Nails: [link] Nine Inch Nails and pony. Who'd have thought that they go together? (Besides FoxInShadow, of course, but he doesn't count. Because I said so.)
I wonder what her cutie mark is...

Ooh... I really like this one. You really managed to pull the sickly mutated look on this one. The colours and shading work really well. I'm a bit jelous actually.... This is kinda the direction I would like my stuff to go but I haven't really figured out how to bring the colours into equation. The Hair is only thing I have any critique about... Looks a bit like you tried to construct it by drawing each individual strands, which doesn't create the best hair. The effect is mild though and only stands out because of the quality of the rest of the drawing.
And I have to specially mention that the tentacles, armour and bandages really fit the character. I really like the spiky bit of armour and the details you put into this piece. So yeah... awesome.

Thank you very much for the kind words! And for pointing out the hair. It's... bad. I think I actually did one worse than constructing it by drawing individual strands--I built a cartoony outline, then tried to texture it with individual strands. Not a good idea, and I'm still trying to learn how to paint hair for the next thing I'm painting. 
(Your work is great, by the way, I only wish I could render form like you.)

Thanks. I'm still pretty deep in the 'noob' section of rungs on the painting ability ladder, but I think I'm getting better. I think I'm going to try a few more things like this soon, since it's actually really fun to paint this way.
