Yeah... did some poking around and was told I needed to keep the breed as-is, because he's got lineage, even though one was a starter

You know what you could do? You could change the percentage of Friesian in his blood to some small, negligible amount that would still qualify him as a pure... I think like 5% stull qualifies as pure?
