Man how did I miss this?? He's so cool! Very sad yet he boasts an air of great intelligence and mystery. Hehe, I've been calling him 'Maestro' since I first watched Entropy on Youtube years ago! Handsome bugger. I wish there was a continuation to his and Melody's story!

Maestro's pretty cool... probably better than just "Man From the Moon"...

Lol I honestly either name, I just use Maestro in my head as kind of a nickname. 8)
Still love your work~

at first in the film he looks a bit proper and stiff yet lonely at the same time but when harmony interacts with him he seems so different, he's happy but i feel that he knew it wouldn't last from the face he had when he let go of harmony's hand towards the end.. :c

Very nice design! A little melancholy, a little otherworldly (does the moon count as a world?), a lot of awesome. I especially like his treble clef clasp and his floating hat.

His character is very creative and charming. For some reason, when I look at him... I see sadness and loneliness, but then you see a glimmer of happiness there, too. You guys did an awesome job! ^-^

Heh thanks... I tend to think of him as being kinda emotionally stunted... not like he has none... just that he doesn't think and feel the same way we do cos he's not really human... he's sorta like... the moon's spirit.

Thanks! If you wanna read more about the film this is from, you can go here (some screenshots there too): [link]

Unfortunately it's not really available for the general public to see yet... but we definitely wanna put together some kind of release for it within the next... maybe 6 months? I dunno... probably ages away anyway

you had to do the 3/4 backveiw? heh, my animation teacher said we just had to do the regular backveiw. but it's just an intro class thing, so i guess they make it a little easier on us. though it's kinda hard to tell after some assighnments.

In first year they told us to do 3/4 back AND normal back view, so it had 5 views ARGH that was a pain to fit on one sheet.

I can't remember if they actually specified wether it was meant to be a 3/4 back or just back but it does make more sence to do 3/4 back because you can figure out a back view yourself from the 3/4 back, whereas figuring out the 3/4 back from directly behind could be a bit more difficult...

yeah, you got a point there. once you get used to it, 3/4 veiws arent that hard. unless you have a hard-to-draw charachter.

Springymajig In reply to morthonkdgoblinator [2006-07-09 11:05:40 +0000 UTC]

it's best to start with a 3/4 view cos if I draw a front and/or side view first, I usually struggle to draw that in 3/4.

huh. for me 3/4 is easy, but sideveiws take a long time to work out.
