Apologies for yet another upload of this to all who've seen it before... I'm taking advantage of the fact that I've just joined the Deviantart Film section to upload a higher quality version that you can watch from the deviantart page, and annotate and all that!--------------VERSIONS-------------

Creation: The animation was created by me over a 6 month period as my final project for an Animation course at Kingston Uni.
Story: The story and characters are based on a scene from a story by *kandinsky-prince This was originally meant to be a trailer of sorts for a full length manga that we were pitching to Tokyopop. Unfortunately it never went through, and development on the story is now on hold for the foreseeable future.
Language: Completely made up by me and *kandinsky-prince ! Based loosely on Spanish with smatterings of other languages.
Music and Sound: Music composed, and sound provided by the audio-gifted ~moosebeast
Technical Info: About 80% of the animation is hand drawn in pencil, scanned and coloured in Photoshop, then composited in After Effects. 3D Backgrounds, and the 'hall of fingers' animation created in Maya, with toon shading for lines, and hand made textures.

That's so cool. I'm writing about Death, and this seems to deal with a whole bunch of the same themes--loneliness, desire, a need for intimacy, separation... I mean, I guess that *is* death, but still. It's really, really neat how stuff happens that way.
Also, I was loopy from sleep deprivation the first time I commented on this, so I'll say it now--THIS IS AWESOME. I love it. I especially love the hand bridge/passageway. It's one of those things that sticks with you ^^

It's a fiction book about a "perfect" world where everyone is the same, is assigned jobs and lives, and there is no color. One person is designated to take all the memories because they can "see" things different from everyone else. It is pretty cool!

It was originally going to be a graphic novel, but the pitch never went ahead. That's what I get for relying on publishers though! Check out my new project www.firelightisle.com I'm doing that all myself this time!

May I ask why you chose "Rolighed" as the title?
In Danish it means 'calmness' or 'quietness', but since neither of you are from Scandinavia, I got curious

Because of its meaning in Danish! It fits the story as a whole really well, and it's a lovely sounding word. It was Kate who chose it, but I really loved it when I heard it.
