Description Been doing a lot of work on The Tempest recently, which is all very exacting and neat, and I felt the intense urge to get a bit sketchy. This is the result. Been playing quite a bit of 40K recently, and chaos rocks when it's done right. I wanted to add my own aesthetic to a chaos marine and see what happened.

Thanks!! I don't actually collect 40K Chaos, only Warhammer, but I try all sorts of rust effects on my figures

Ah man, nothing can beat an imperial guard army made of nothing but basic troop choices and whatever HQ's necessary. It's a frightening army to face OO

Dude thats savage, really like the giant hand on the shin guard, the sketchiness reminds me of John Blache and the old second ed rule books. Not too sure what power we're looking at the, the overall feel is nurgle but the pincers in the back hint of slannesh, still doing alot of 40k stuff myself though few have been posted, that does look great tho

Bah, I need to get back into 40k. Tyranids pwn, chaos rocks too. Played them in fantasy AND 40k ^_^

I played before they inplemented the Tao though and they look AWESOME. Do you know anything about them?

I've only just got back into 40K, since my new house-mate works at gameworkshop. The Tau are really cool. I think they play a bit like the Eldar... you need to balance your army well, because they're powerful but a bit fragile.

Ooh... I didn't give that a thought actually. I play eldar normally, and I've converted a few models before, so I could technically do it. I might give it a go if I get some spare time

lol Not surprised you haven't heard of one. It's a type of character from a Table-top war game called Warhammer 40,000. It's really popular here in the UK, but not so much else where.

This is a lot more different from your usual style-!
Darker, grittier!

The skull on the breastplate really stands out, and the vambrace designs are really cool (so angular and neat).

**Ahahh-! I just noticed the dead enemy he's bracing his foot on.
Good subtle use of perspective.

Great work! I never knew you were a Games-Workshop fan. I love the severely limited palette and the dynamic positioning of the main subject. It screams "warhammer", to anyone who is familiar with the game and its style. The pose is reminiscent of something you'd see in a rulebook or an issue of white dwarf. Great job!

Yeah. I used to be into it a long time ago, and then the interest faded... but recently, I moved in with a few house-mates, one of whom works in GW. Coming at the hobby from a more adult perspectuive give it a whole new dimension I never realised existed before
This was inspired by all the awesome B/W pics in Codex Chaos.
