The sad thing for me is that when I fist watch the high school reunion episode I could very easily see Megavolt and Darkwing being friends through outΒ their school years and now they're enemies

Maybe that's why Darkwing doesn't beet Megavolt,Β subconsciously, he still see's Megsy as his friend

If he even recognizes Megavolt as Elmo...I mean I haven't seen the episode yet but I have a feeling that Megavolt is different from Elmo at least in personality. After all getting zapped by an electrical machine to the point that you gain electrical powers could mess up anyone's mind, and as far as I know Elmo was a lot shyer and more mellow than Megavolt is.
So maybe Drake didn't even know that Elmo had become Megavolt until the reunion, and before then assumed that Elmo had run away and was hurt that Elmo never contacted him. That could also explain why Darkwing was reluctant to have friends before meeting Gosalyn and Launchpad.
Then after the reunion Drake was still hurting from the past and decided to 'forget' about Megavolt and Elmo being the same person. Though I thought of a fanfic idea that forces Darkwing to confront Elmo. Megavolt, due to finding out that his powers are slowly killing him (turns out Elmo's memory getting worse was a symptom). Don't worry, thanks to Morgana Elmo is saved, and the situation also caused Elmo to decide to reform.

I'll grant you my view is a bit less realistic (but it's a cartoon, so sue me). I always preferred to view it as a genuine friendship between them, but with mutually exclusive goals. In some ways like a grand game (but with Drake more conscious of the real-world implications, while Megavolt is a little bit fuzzy on consequential cause-and-effect type stuff). I just want the status quo to not be sad (and I definately feel like they were school friends).

Hmm, I thought in the episode Megavolt makes his first appearance, Darkwing mentions that he sent him to the electric chair -twice. Anyway, this picture is a nic poirtrait shot of Darkwing, although Megavolt comes out a little squashed in. But the animosity is palpable.

Actually that's really neat to think of htem going all the way back to teenagers together... I'd never thought of it in that perspective. Somehow that makes it really even cooler. ^_^

For some reason, DW looks kinda annoyed. Must be because Megavolt is worse than dust, always coming back D:
Not that I complain >w>
I really like the little spark on Megs' finger, looks like he's focused on something. What are you trying to remember, Elmo? XD

I guess to DW Sparky is the most annoying person in the universe. xD For a villain he's a bit nutty, but just too dangerous to be ignored!

That amazes me that you're able to do that. Are these downloadable textures, or do you make them up yourself?

OH yes, there is alot of Negaduck in Darkwing Duck than he'd care to admit! That's why I love him so because he is just filled with all this emotion that everyone can relate to. He is definitely not a goodie goodie that's for sure. Like everyone, he has lots of great qualities, but he has his faults. And one big fault is not being able to trust anyone, but that probably comes from his early childhood.
I really admire your talent for drawing Darkwing Duck! You really capture his true personality and character. Your pictures are filled with all of his emotion.

I wish they'd shown us a bit more of DW's childhood. There was so much potential going down the drain when they didn't take the opportunity to elaborate on Drake's past and why he decided to become what he's now. Sure, there are about three different explanations for him becoming DW, but they're only scratching on the surface of what Drake's true reasons were.
