Hello, from
Well, after looking at this, and seeing your `revised` piece, I still think they Both have valid merits. Here, with how your luminous bits of cloud can be looked upon as more 'spectral' in nature, and they're cavorting souls dancing about or racing along. Your sky is a wonderful vista of Blue, and your stars are a joy to behold.
It is not so much we let our `mind` wander when we're "bored", but perhaps our soul... hence why it seems we're in tune to the Universe.
Thank you for this!

Noice! I actually use both Medibang and Photoshop on most of my pieces. ^^

Hello. I'm from Project Comment and I'll be critiquing this piece.
I think this is very good! My only real problem is how bright the sky is. If it's a night sky, yes, it would be bright, but it's a little too bright is my thinking.
I do like how you drew the piece, though.
The tree is more of a silhouette, and it adds to the drawing beautifully!
I'd love to see more of this in the future.
Thanks for reading.

Hi Lydia,
I'm with Project Comment. I also do Landscapes as my primary art subject. Here's what I think:
I started by looking at your work desaturated. In the mono grey scale, the painting is more-or less successful. I do this to establish value in a painting, and the successful or unsuccessful application of it. Your painting exists in three planes here: Full Dark, Half Dark, and half light. I would rate your ability to render value about average. Sustains: The breathy application of your half light is used effectively. I would continue to energize future paintings by movement in your half lights. Improves: Your half-darks. Here, your half-darks aren't working as hard as they could. You could push the value darker and lighter, and fully take advantage of the analgous values in the half dark range. I would like to see the upper sky be rendered considerably darker. Because your sky is so bright, and the foreground so dark, there is a disjointed feel, and the painting appears flat. You can fix this by bringing the half-darks down a notch or two.
Your local color could be described as monochromatic, since virtually all of your colors are in the cyan/blue family. No issue with your color scheme. I would like to see more variety of your blues though, to add visual punch i.e. redder blues.
Composition: Not digging the center placement of the tree. Also would prefer a little more adherence to the 2/3 or 1/3 rule for the horizon. I also would prefer a climax or visual crescendo, where my eyes are wow'd with a particular point on the art work. Here, there's a lot of movement but nothing to keep my eyes on a singular area. Have to find a balance here. Your strongest method for creating a sweet spot is where the darkest darks meet the lightest lights, and an intersections of shapes meet.
I hope this helps, Thomas

hey, this is a comment from ProjectComment and can I just say I absolutely LOVED this piece?
Even though it has a simple color scheme and the sparkle details are not too much complicated like I've see in other pieces, it just makes me go "wow" all over again. The grass and the tree match the atmosphere so well, and the smooth glow around it gives the color scheme a more mythical aura that mixes with the astrological aspect of the piece as well.
The stars of the sky and the way they were drawn makes the tree a more special object in this piece, it's not JUST a tree, it's something else, and the sky says so.
One thing though, the blue glow on the tree looks slightly odd, the way you drew that part of the tree looks a bit too blurred, maybe you could've make a little more detail to look more tree-y if you know what I'm saying ^^ but besides that, even though the leaves look rather simplistic, they look cute and not too exaggerated, which adds more to the aesthetic this piece gives.
In an overall this piece has it's potential, and in my eyes, it already shines. Good job!
