Description Backyard of butterflies surrounded me

I swear there's a lot of vegetables out there
That crop up for air

Until you suddenly bloomed

If the green left the grass on the other side
(I would make like a tree and leave)

Would your eyes get wide?
(Who knew the other side could be so green?)

Um... Okay. When the hell did I learn how to digitally paint??

Started this last night. Took about 11 hours? Which is probably the longest I've spent on a drawing ever. XD

Really happy with his one. You all don't even know. C:

HAH! It certainly wasn't 11 hours straight... I did this in about three sittings. (the first one was a 7 hour run XD)
But thank you! Just let the drawing take you where it wants to go. I certainly didn't intend for this to be so detailed. XDD

Hahahah, that makes me feel a lot better! xD I'm not sure if I could handle sitting for 11 hours! I might have to learn if I want to get into the animation industry, but hopefully animators won't have to get put through that lol.

Well from what I learned in my history of animation class some months ago, animators back in Walt's day had to do several hundred+ drawings a day, while animators today do a fraction of that! Computers make everything so much easier. XD

The improvement shows! Art school is taking you places, and your painting has definitely progressed by leaps and bounds. And on SAI as well? That's seriously something amazing. CS3 is my crutch :c

Anyway, I really like the colour composition. The purples and golds together give me the warm fuzzies, as does the pose of the couple. It looks really natural, and the light makes it almost etherial. Your anatomy is looking even better than before, especially the head-to-body ratio. One of the things I've always liked about your backgrounds are the large brushes you use to help focus our attention on the subjects, while still maintaining shape and form.

The only real critique I have is maybe extend the rim light a bit more so their faces are outlined? It will help draw the viewer's attention to their faces! I'd also possibly put a fake rim light on the trees (yes, I'm obsessed with rim lights XDDD) to help define a light source and help the background pop a bit more, but it might also detract from the lovely couple so it's all up to you! I'd also try to make the bottom more shadowy because it looks like a light is hitting each of them from behind.

Anyway, this is a very lovely painting and your improvement and effort shows! It's always so rewarding putting the extra TLC into a piece of art and being proud of the results.

I don't know that I'll add more lighting, and does it really need more shadows?? It looks so dark on my screen! O_O But I will play with it some more~

I wonder if this came out so well because I miss this boy to death. :C Kinda been banned from seeing/talking to him. :c

You're welcome! The effort shows and you should be proud of yourself.

I ought to blame my monitor for the lighting/shadows issue-- it washes colours out and reduces contrast. In the end it's your picture and chances are it looks different on better monitors.

Sorry to hear about that. Just curious, how come you've been banned from seeing him? If it's something you wish to keep to yourself on a public site, it's totally understandable.

Ah, okay. So it's just a monitor issue XD

I've been banned because my parents hate him, and though I'm 22 and they shouldn't have a say in who I see, I comply to not risk getting kicked out. :C It's a big bunch of stupidity that I'm trying to work on with them.
