Crystalkit thought her heart would stop, with horror in her eyes, watched she the fight between her
mother and the monster, which had hurt her father.

Though Windsong fought with all of her skills, it was soon obviously that she hadn´t had a real change against Stainfang.
He was much bigger and stronger. Her only advantage was her speed.

And that was what she used as much as she could.

Everytime the blue and white tom took a swing, jumped the red she-cat out of the way, only inches away from the death bringing
claws. At the same time, tried she to scratch him also with her own white claws.
But this wasn´t so easy thanks to Stainfang´s size and his long fur.

After a few more minutes, which seems like hours to Crystalkit, they moved away from each other. They stood still now, facing eachother, with only a few fox-lenghtes between them. Windsong was panting, it was clear that she hadn´t much energy left.

She used the little break in their fight to take a look at her kits, they were still at the same point where she had left them, watching soundless with white open eyes.

A dark laugh interrupted the silence, Windsong´s head turned back to her opponent. Stainfang had lifted his head to the sky, laughing
darkly as he had no worrys about his fight.

"What is so funny?!" screamed Windsong desperate. Slowly, turned the blue and white tom his head back to her.
"Would you have ever dreamed that your life would end this way?"

That was enough, Windsong jumped with a roar, willing to end him. But Stainfang was faster.
