This is the first contest on Deviant Art I've entered. I'm really excited! I thought of a little back-story for my design and tried to show it in the hat. The spiderwebs are silver thread and the corset lacing, the band and the box pleats around the cameo are red ribbon. The keys and chain are actually silver, but they kept blending in with the background fabric so I highlighted them in yellow. The little blood stained card is a last correspondence between former lovers which reads: "It is with most sincere regret that I find I must leave you my love, having discovered your true and vile character. I must confess I have become disenchanted by your affections and my tears fall not for you who are black of heart, but for my own shattered soul." The affair is long forgotten now, hidden away in a dusty attic, hence the cobwebs.
