hey,
really cool looking gunship.

is it possible to get a 3side view of it?
because of 3dmoddeling.

Thanks. I'm happy to hear that you think it's worth making a model of this. I'd like to see it come to life. However, I don't have any other views so I would have to draw them. I would like to move on to other new ideas but who knows. If you want to try modeling this, I might be able to give you some feedback.

hi, thx for reply.
a 3 side view would help very much and would be much appriciated.

is this gunhip more like a jet or a chopper?

iยดve also done a little photoshopping on your "jet-like" gunship to look more like a "chopper-like" gunship.

iยดm not that good in photoshop, but i think you get the idea

[link]

iยดm still thinking about the possibility to ad to the modified version a "AVATAR movie Rotosystem"

i think i will try to do both as 3d model.

sorry for bad english. didnt used it very much in the last years.

Sorry for the late reply. I've been pretty busy. I don't think I'll be able to get to the 3 views but I put together a quick SketchUp model for you. It's pretty basic and not complete but I hope it helps you a little at least [link] Feel free to do whatever you want with it. I think either a jet or a chopper would work as a description but it would probably be more on the jet/Harrier/A-10 side. I like what you did with the drawing. It's kind of weird seeing my drawing turned into something else but it looks cool. Keep me updated on the progress if you continue. Thanks.

hey there,

okay it took some time but i could finally bring my idea to "life"
took quiet a lot of time to work on a "helicopter-like" version

and what you see is only a conceptual model a more refined one will follow

I.... LIKE it. Old school style of drawing, don't see many of those, nice. Speaking strictly from aerospace engineering perspective, this design looks like it works, very balanced. There is also no mistaking of what this design does ether, similar to the A-10 Warthog right? Man... you did your research!

SpireKat In reply to Kconcepts [2012-02-18 02:57:46 +0000 UTC]

Thank you. I wasn't thinking of the A-10 when I drew this but you're right. There is a slight similarity. What's funny is that the file name I have for this in my computer is Wild-Boar-Gunship.

Nice, I called it, you were already thinking in that direction. Wild-boar-gunship sounds a bit more menacing.

I just love the dirty look of ballpoint and ink drawings. Especially on sci fi designs. there's just something about the old school tools depicting stuff that won't be made until we're all just memories. Plus the fact that these tools are so unpretentious and mundane. It makes the true art stand out even more.
Need I say it..? Ok I will anyway cos you deseerve to hear it . Dude you are truely F***ing awesome.
You need to post this stuff not in just one group. You need to do it everywhere, gain a steady, massive crowd of followers because this need to be seen by the good peeps out there. Us amateurs have to learn from you. I'm pretty sure you can live off of this, and if not, then lesser people like me can just start washing windows straight away, he he..

If you haven't allready you must publish your drawings.

Wow, really, thanks. I pretty much keep to myself and have these drawings sitting around me. I've had this DA account for about a hear and only recently decided to post my drawings. I don't have too many paintings. I think it's because I'm more of a pen and paper kind of guy. I've always enjoyed looking at preproduction sketches of SF vehicles so it's nice to hear you feel the same way. They always seem more alive to me.

R U kidding?? Man... With a talent as yours you need to go forth and conquer the world! Ink and pen sketches are the most beautiful of all, because they show a rawness of talent that other mediums loose in the process. Well, with one exception John Berkeley, ever seen his stuff? He paints with acryllic I think, but it's done in such a way that it looks almost sketchy to me.

I used to have a poster he did of Star Wars taped up on my wall for a long time. It was the battle over death star. I didn't realize he was the artist for it at the time but he does have an immediately recognizable style so I guess I should have known. I think I even had some book covers with his art on them.

Scifiwarships In reply to SpireKat [2012-02-17 07:54:05 +0000 UTC]

I've seen that poster too; or one of them made by him at least, though it's his personal work that facinates me the most check this out [link] Lots of colors and the detailing on the ships make then seem so very very much alive I think.

Maybe because of the twin canopy? I wanted to try something like the Mi-24 Hind. There is also a GI Joe aircraft that came out not too long ago. I don't remember the name of it but this drawing predates that.

macrossmecha In reply to SpireKat [2012-02-06 05:02:12 +0000 UTC]

I think you mean the Tomhawk it was a twin bladed chopper like a chinook but bigger

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

SpireKat In reply to macrossmecha [2012-02-06 05:18:58 +0000 UTC]

I did some searching and found it. It's the Dragonhawk. I remember when I saw some pictures of it for the first time and thought it looked similar to this design. Later on, I saw it at a local Costco and would have bought it but that thing was huge.
