Yes, I know I've made at least one other stamp to this effect (the "suicide isn't edgy" one), but it means something to me.Suicide is absolutely not something to take lightly.
I can even take some amount of joking (Become an hero!), but people taking it as a joke or something that's just a phase, or what have you...
Suicide is honestly serious business. Not srs bizness.
If someone expresses suicidal intent, don't brush them off, don't act like they're weak, and don't act like they don't mean it.
Suicide isn't a joke. If you think it is, go talk to anybody who's been directly affected by it-- whether they've been suicidal or had somebody close to them commit or attempt it.
See how much they laugh.

Too bad Joelowes doesn't know this. Seriously the guy had an emo fit and threatened to kill himself over the fact a character of mine criticized him for his characters (all of them sucked and he is a shitty roleplayer) and for disagreeing with him about Fire Emblem and Skyrim. I don't joke about suicide, I know better. When I was in the 12th grade, some retarded transgender student named Taylor accused me of joking about about suicide by saying "don't joke about it." TWICE and it got annoying quickly. Well, even if I did, then didn't really mean it! He should NOT be that entitled to accuse me of something I wouldn't do or wasn't trying to do! This only happened when we had conversations about how eating snake meat is good. I haven't eaten snakes before, but get me wrong, I actually don't want to do that because I love snakes do much and the idea of eating a snake sounds very sad and unpleasant. Yes, I did say I would kill myself if I eaten a snake, but I didn't mean it because I really meant say was "I love snakes and I don't want to eat even if I never did it before.". Taylor was telling me that snake meat taste so good and that I should try it, and guess what, he was so rude about it. I would try snake meat when it comes to trying new things, but because I love snakes a lot, I don't really want to and shouldn't have to. Taylor needs to get over it himself because he's just an entitled ungrateful brat.

I can't stand when people in school say they're gonna kill themselves just because they're mad or say they're being bullied when they're not. As someone who dealt with suicidal thoughts and who was bullied and is constantly fearing it's going to start up again, it makes me so mad and upset when people in school say that

I sometimes joke about wanting to die or something but that's because I make fun of literally everything, including things I absolutely love. That's just my sense of humor
But in reality, I take suicide very, very seriously and it breaks my heart whenever I hear that someone became a victim of it(actually, I almost became a victim of it. I once attempted suicide). It's not funny to ridicule someone with these thoughts.Β

He expressed his opinion and I responded to it. Every opinion, when viewed by someone, will provoke some form of response, even if it is just to ignore the opinion.
I'm just saying what is likely to happen, not preventing him from making the argument in the first place. People make suicide jokes all the time and in my experience, there's quite a few people (even here on DA) who don't bat an eyelid or just laugh. If people laugh at a joke which isn't aimed at anyone, even if it's that's about putting oneself in a giant blender, it's not an example of trolling (let alone cyberbullying). It doesn't necessarily contribute to a general culture or atmosphere of bullying, either, seeing as many people know that it's just satire and anyone who is mad enough to unironically send a death threat or even "kys" is probably gonna get called out. It's important to grow that "thick skin" that people keep harping on about (anxiety and depression are different matters).
Try to come back with something better than saying that I'm trying to silence people.

If you think it's a joke, I dare you to live in the shoes of a person who committed suicide and had a valid reason to do it from the point where it started to where it ended. while i'll admit in the right company it certainly is not appropriate, i've been suicidal since i was around nine for literally no reason. not a single reason other than i just fucking didn't feel right in the head, you know?

i can crack all the suicide jokes i want and laugh my ass off at them because i am an individual who can. i don't agree on one person saying "you can't think that way because people/i have been through that and it hurts!" because you just can't speak for everyone. you can speak for the folks that think like that, sure.

Honestly ever since sixth grade I've constantly thought about suicide, but I know it's wrong because no matter how much people put me down, there are those who let me know that I have a bright future and that I am much respected. One way to help channel my pain is through music, video games, and pretty much anything that I love.
