Meanwhile, there had been speculation that Trixie from 'Lunaverse' would become Alicorn when the stories hit Season 3, and also ridiculous speculation that Lunaverse Twilight, after all she did, somehow suddenly turns around and becomes qualified for Alicornhood. I mean, seriously? What are they thinking if that's what they're planning?

That's...not entirely correct, Out of the mane six, I'd say that only Twilight and Applejack were portrayed in a truly negative light. The rest had some character exaggeration, but were more or less identical to their canon counterparts. Plus, Twilight and Applejack have recently both been returned to their canon characterizations, the former going through a long-planned redemption arc and the latter after a story was published that many felt took the deconstruction of her character too far.

Rarity without her generosity, RD's laziness with none of her diligence and loyalty, Fluttershy with her shyness and nothing else, and Pinkie acting a annoying as her clones in Too many pinkie pie.

Interesting that you guys brought the Lunaverse up. In all honesty I have no idea which direction the writers will go. Personally I hope they go for Alicorn Trixie if they go that road at all. Now that we are several seasons further in the main verse. Alicorns simple don't seem as godlike as they are portrayed in the Lunaverse. Also Cadence is expecting a foal while in the Lunaverse it was stated that Alicorns couldn't breed with non alicorns. Already the contradictions seem to pile up. So I what I'm saying is that it wouldn't surprise me at all that none will archive Alicornhood because Lunaverse by now is set in its own personal rules that it really has deviated from the main verse. The final nail in the coffin would be starlight glimmer. The season 5 final actually showed that Starlight was more then a match if not better then Princess Twilight in magic when they came to blows against each other. In the Lunaverse that would consider an impossibility considering that it's stated more then once that Alicorn powers are way beyond a mere "mortal" pony could ever hope to archive. So what does this mean? Simple the Alicorns of the Lunaverse and those of the main verse are different beings. In the Lunaverse they are gods in the main verse they are blessed ponies to guide the others to a better future. Whether they were natural born Alicorns or ascended ones.

In the story "Carrot Top over the Line", Rarity gives Carrot Top some advice on how to solve the problem of the day, Rainbow Dash is shown to be highly protective and loyal towards Fluttershy, and Fluttershy herself is depicted as being willing to go into the Everfree to help injured animals despite being far more introverted than her canon counterpart. And over the course of several stories, she undergoes major character development that brings her more in line with the show's portrayal. Pinkie Pie has always acted like her canon counterpart, the difference is how other ponies react to her, and it was largely just a handful of them who found her annoying. Primarily Trixie and Lyra.
And the story I was referring to was "Carrot Top Season". You see, the main crux of L!Applejack early on was that her fears that Sweet Apple Acres could go under at any time was completely unfounded since the Apples had a monopoly on apples in the Ponyville. "Carrot Top Season" took this and turned it up to eleven, depicting Applejack as being completely delusional, believing that her farm was the only thing stopping Ponyville from starving. Over the course of the story, she acts like an utter, self-centered lunatic, accusing Carrot Top of waging a vendetta against her entire family because the latter had entered the same cooking contest that she had, threatening to stop supplying Berry Punch with cider because she was helping out Carrot Top, and very nearly ruining her relationship with Applebloom with her antics. Needless to say, this didn't sit well with a lot of readers, so after that story, the Lunaverse writers backed away from portraying the Mane Six in any negative light and nowadays whenever they show up, they're pretty indistinguishable from the canon versions.

This would've worked well if she wasn't redeemed and apologized for her behavior. Since she is no longer considered an antagonist though I don't think so.
