Description
Just a little doodly map for my own reference. It bothers me sometimes how Redwall Abbey gets drawn as this small, compact castle with no room for grounds and especially not for an entire orchard and pond within it, especially when Redwall is always described as being highly self-sufficient with at minimum about 100 residents at any one time!
Included are a whole assortment of buildings both mentioned in the series (the Main Abbey, the Gatehouse, and the Belltower) and necessary for a medieval and pre-medieval era settlement to work (Granaries, a Workshop for repairing and building, a Smithy for the same type of thing only metals, a dedicated Storehouse, Woodhouse for the storing of firewood for both cooking and heating, Compost Bays for the recycling of scraps and growing of one's own veggies). There's also extensive space dedicated to growing vegetables, fruits, nuts, and grains, as well as a floral garden for both prettiness and the keeping of medicinal floral things. Everything I hope is in keeping with the books! Also, the North wall is the one facing left on this map, as that road you see there runs North to South.
