Oh my goodness! I love the background in this piece. The horizontal lines in the sky portion contrast with the vertical lines of the ground portion in a way that's somehow super satisfying to look at. (Forgive me, I don't know proper art terms/theory) ^^ I also like the way you handled the shininess/highlights of the black fur.

Ahhhh thanks! I really love doing little mini-backgrounds on art cards -- backgrounds eat all my marker ink on bigger pictures, but art cards are just the right size to do fun things like this without killing my markers.
P.s.- I think "horizontal lines and vertical lines" are pretty much the proper art terms. Or at least, we sure talked a lot about horizontal and vertical lines during my single year as an art student, haha.
